Im addicted at first listen..I always have to thank an artist in purity for reminding me of substance and bringing me into different worlds as I remain sitting in my living room chair. Your music has a presence so definite that it cannot be compared to anything already done. Thanks for being fresh and awesome!

I was given your album during the holidays and was so completely taken by the eloquence and poetic nature of your music. I may never have been as inspired as I was those first moments with your music. You have prompted me to pursue my passions in music even more than before. There is so much we can say, why wait?

I am way too obsessed with you. First saw you at the High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, CA last July (hope you are playing again), and I have since traveled to Hollywood to see you at the Hotel Cafe (great show) and just bought my tickets for the El Rey in March. My fiance, who hates everything I listen to, loves you. He laughed and said, "maybe good music does still exist." Congrats on the Hilton Commercial! I almost fell out of my chair. Can't wait to see you again!!

I could not be happier that I found your music. Your voice and lyrics are truly amazing. I love to blast your music over and over while driving up the coast. It gives me chills. I'll be at your show on March 31st and know that I'll be even more in love than I already am. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.

My husband and I just took my father and step mohter to your concert at Higher Ground in Burlington. We had such an amazing time and my parents instantly fell in love with your music and spirit! They were going on and on about how you should play at Belly Up in Aspen, where they are from, so I came home and checked your tour schedule. We were all so happy to see that you were playing there on March 4th, coincidently, when my husband and I will be out there to visit. Needless to say, we are all coming and bringing a few friends with us! Can't wait to hear another show!

Unfortunately I missed the show last night due to Bostons new 18+ concert law that was passed 3 days ago. Uggg... But fortunately I caught you after the show and you were kind enough to sing a song for me and my friend. It was so great. You are so real and such an amazing performer. Thank you so much. And next time I am getting to the show an hour and a 1/2 earlier. Good luck w/ the rest of the tour and come back around Boston real soon.

brett...asheville was graciously blessed by your presence a week ago on thurs...i went with two friends, one of which had only heard one song of yours on the radio...i nearly declined because i was tired and didn't know...oh, my god what a mistake it would have been if i'd stayed at home....your lyrics cut me to the quick and send my heart spinning like a little kid on too much cotton candy...no doubt my life has been altered...and i will share it with the small piece of my world...thank you and may your words and passion continue to change those lucky enough to hear you.................mitch

I love your sound, and can't wait to hear you perform at Birdy's. So great to find a record you can listen to the whole way through without once wanting to change the song.

Wonderful writing, great perspective. I'd be interested if the songs of John Astin resonate with you. They aren't as unique as yours but do come from a pretty interesting viewpoint.

January 27, 2007

Wonderful writing, great perspectives. Would be very interested in whether the songs of John Astin (especially "Only the Mystery," "What is Noticing" & "True Emptiness" & "Love. Serve & Remembeer") resonate with you. His ongs aren't as creative as your but are written from an ineresting perspective.

Heard you on KGSR in Austin, TX (music capital of the world)and spent some very worthwhile time tracking down your latest CD. I play it at least once every day...it always makes me think deep thoughts and feel thankful that someone still cares deeply about the state of the world. You look so young and yet your lyrics are those of someone who has experienced a great deal. Maybe you just have an old soul. Thank you for coming into my life. I plan to share you with everyone I love!

Today I found out your name and title of your song The One Who Loves You The Most. The first time I heard your lyrics was only the last verse on a television commercial here in Toronto. Two months of research and finally I have a reason to buy music once again. Thank you

Brett-
Found a copy of 'So Much More' in Toronto over Christmas after hearing you on the radio in Mass.(WGBH if I recall). Very moving songs- and the way the words just trip off your tongue. You are an inspiration- 2nd best album of 2006 after 'Modern Times'. Like that album, your musical inspirations are somewhat visible (Dylan's'I WantYou', for instance and Simon cica 'Still Crazy' and 'Graceland')but you bring so much of yourself into the mix. To paraphrase A.R. Ammons, you have the wit to lessen the specific gravity of the weight of the world. This will sauve many a weary soul. Am looking forward to catching some shows as you head East. Don't let the road wear you down, my friend. Eat well, sleep well.

I first heard Brett when he performed in Seattle on the Mountain Music Lounge (103.7). I went out the next day to find the CD. Had to order it. It's been in my CD player ever since. The best new artist I've heard in years. Amazing lyrics and guitar. The most unique and awesome voice. I bought tickets to the Seattle show in March and I'm excited to see Brett live. I've already turned many friends into Brett fans. Keep up the good work.

there's a commercial playing in Toronto right now for Rogers Cable TV and I couldn't get the music playing in the background out of my head. Then I hear the same song at the end of an episode of Men in Trees. I googled a phrase of the song to get the title - Love you the Most. It's an amazing song - can't wait to get the CD. Any chance you'll play any dates in Toronto area?

My boyfriend and I saw you open for Corinne Bailey Rae. While we were impressed with her, you blew us away because we weren't expecting much. When we heard you, we instantly thought Paul Simon. Your song writing is amazing and deep. And we love your voice. Can't wait to see you at the Troubadour.

Much love.

I'm so happy for your success Brett! I remember listening to your play back in Santa Cruz, in the house on Liberty Street, and feeling so honored to hear your beautiful songs. How amazing that now you're sharing them with the world! A friend recently played me a recording of your NPR show, and she couldn't believe I knew you from Santa Cruz. ;) It seems you're well-loved and famous out here in Boulder, CO. Can't wait to bring my hubby to your next show in Boulder; he loves your music too. Congrats, Brett, and keep being a steward of your gifts. Blessings, Margaux

Brett,
You are amazing!! I got to see you at ACL (and even be on stage, so I got to stay dry!) But I want you to come close to oklahoma again! I was so excited to hear you on tv! Way to go!

November 11, 2006

Brett,
saw you at ACL this year. I was the one in the poncho by the sound stage trying desparately to stay dry while you played! You were great, I've downloaded all your work on iTunes and keep telling all my friends how much I enjoy your poetry. good luck and hope you read this. They say you're a mixture of Paul Simon, Bob Dylan & IMHO Sting! Great company/comparison... I live in San Diego and wonder when you're going to play in the area so I can bring my family to see you...
